Competition in this territory is not as high due to smaller property and system sizes at only 50-70% offsets, this means smaller payouts.
TEP
TEP covers Tuscon and surrounding areas and recently changed its policy's to match SRPs buy back rates. This means that customers and solar dealerships are being discouraged to operate in these territories.
The current residential rooftop solar buyback rate is $0.0781 per kWh, effective since October 1, 2021, This will continue through September 30, 2022.
Competition has dropped for this territory since the new changes but still has potential for solar dealers with the right business model and approach.
